Bette & Joan
Written by Anton Burge, directed by Lynne Devenish, featuring Siobhan Vincent as Bette Davis and Sarah House as Joan Crawford
Two aging and rapidly fading stars of Hollywood, are falling out of favour in the film industry where youth and beauty rule. Bette has gone back to her roots, appearing on Broadway, when she is approached by Joan with the script for Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. It was to be an odd alliance, as they were never friends, often portrayed by the press, Hedda Hopper and Louella Parsons included, as mortal enemies. This is where we, the audience, are made privy to the behind the scenes action during the making of the 1962 American psychological horror thriller. Anton Burge has written a brilliant and viciously funny script.
